This Week in the Garden: Summer at Last!

Hello, sunshine!  It's the last week of summer here in New Zealand, but it's the first summery week we've actually had so far this season. Nature is so confused right now since the summer has been more like an extended spring or a fast-forward straight to fall. Predictions are that we'll have a lovely autumn, so fingers crossed that I'll actually get to enjoy some time in the garden for what might likely be our last summer here before moving.  The neighbourhood is literally buzzing with the sounds of lawnmowers and string-trimmers furiously at work on (finally!) dry grass and the hum of cicadas slowly waking up with the first taste of warm weather.   What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.
