This Week in the Garden: Wet Winter Fruits and Veggies + War of the Weeds

It's been yet another soggy week in the winter garden, but the forecast is looking up!  Good thing, as I have a lot of catch up chores to do when (if) things dry out. Fortunately, the winter garden is loving the weather almost as much as the rampant weeds. If the weather breaks, then it's time to declare a weed war in my flower beds and berry bramble before the weeds suck out all the goodness out of soil. On the positive side, everything is lush and leafy in the winter veggie patch; however, my broad beans are still beanless. I had originally suspected the wind, but an wondering if our persistent wet weather might be a factor as well. Hmmm. What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.

Our July feature topic will be greener choices around the home - stay tuned for special posts starting from Monday. This month's feature will explore home energy efficiency, with a focus on "doable" changes and updates for real life improvements in your existing home and budget.
