This Week in the Garden: A Visitor!

It has been another very wet and windy (and thundery) week, so not much gardening. I tried raking in a dry still spell yesterday only to abandon my pile and run for cover when the weather quickly turned again.  It feel like hibernation weather indeed!  We had a visitor this week while I was attempting one of my (futile) dry-spell garden chores. A handsome little hedgehog. He (or she) was happily burrowing around without a care in the world while I weeded.  I know that DOC considers them a villainous pest, but just look at this cute little urban adventurer! Sadly (or gladly if you're DOC) I doubt his adventures will end well as the city center is not a safe or friendly place for wee critters. We have abundant bird and insect guests in the garden, but not general wildlife. What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.
