This Week in the Garden: Long Awaited Autumn Rains

After a beautiful sunny stretch of autumn weather, long overdue rain came this week and I took advantage of the still warm wet weather to do some rearrangement transplants and bed in some perennial shrubs and hardy herbs.  Inspired by the strong healthy growth and good looks of our pineapple sage, I have slipped some other shrubby edibles into our landscaping. Our autumn veggie plantings are growing well, with strong growth on our root crops and our first peas already forming on the vines.  No ripe lemons for Cinco de Mayo drinks, but hopefully soon. The mandarins have started to turn and the lemons and little Mexican limes shouldn't be too far behind.  What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.
