This Week in the Garden: The First Magnolias of Winter are Here!

One week past winter solstice, a few sunny (yet cool) days, and BAM! The first magnolias have started to burst from bud.  Only the easiest blossoms way up high on the sunniest spots, but they're here! It's little things like this that make winter feel not so very bad at all in our climate. Sorry snowy gardeners. It's ok to be jealous...very jealous. Hehe. Other winter-flowering plants are creeping into bloom as well. I love it! The stormy wet winter weather is now back again,  but such is the way of the season.  What's happening in and around your garden this week? Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page. I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.  P.S. Green in Real Life is now on Instagram! Join us there for my photos from our garden and beyond. ❀
