Here & Now

It's time for our May Here & Now post as part of the monthly link-up hosted by Sarah of Say! Little Hen. You can find all of this month's participants and their links in the May Here & Now at Say! Little Hen to explore what's happening in everyone's Here & Now - please join us if you wish!  I am currently:

Loving //  The beautiful colours of autumn, despite having to rake the garden.
Eating //  Nothing at the moment, but I feel some cold weather comfort food coming on.
Drinking //  Coffee coffee coffee...
Feeling //  Chilly! The weather has turned into a soggy wet stormy mess - iPhone snaps of the dogs on today's wet walk below. :)
Making //  Nothing at the moment, and it definitely feels a bit strange not to have a half-finished project on the craft table.
Thinking //  About what task to tackle next. There always seem to be so many to-dos, so little time!
Dreaming //  Of the next adventure.

Since last month's Here & Now, the weather has been pretty nice for autumn aside from a few spells of wild weather.  It's been much nicer than our absent summer really - perfect for enjoying the autumn colours with long walks through the forest trails and sunny strolls on the beach with my canine companions. The leaf photos in the post were taken on a slow "solo senior's stroll" with Oli earlier this week. The garden is still looking pretty good for late autumn thanks to dry weather for chores and my new homemade flower press has been put to use pressing some of the late blossoms still lingering. It's been a rather lovely month indeed.

Curious to see more?  Let's stay in touch! You can follow along here at Green in Real Life (links on the sidebar) for my urban garden adventures with a sprinkle of everyday greener living, drop by Creativity Unmasked for my creative and crafty side, or head to the dogs at Dalmatian DIY for homemade treats, toys, and other pet posts. See you again soon!

  1. Oh autumn is simply stunning in your part of the weather Laura!! The wind is howling outside here tonight, I'm thinking a fire might have been a good idea :-)

Thanks so much for joining in & stay warm!

    1. The weather here has taken on quite a chill in the last few days - winter is on the way. Fortunately I have two giant Dalmatian hot water bottle bed hogs to help keep me cosy on chilly nights. :)

  2. Those leaves against the blue sky - perfect autumn days. Definitely not getting that this weekend.
My sewing table is a mess of projects, lots to choose from when I feel creative.
    Happy weekend to you.

    1. A messy table is a sure sign of a busy creative mind at work. :) Grey and wintery weather is great for sewing and crafting at least. I always feel guilty about being indoors "wasting" nice weather (especially when nice weather is as rare as it was this past summer).

  3. Those Autumn leaves are just beautiful, Laura. The leaves on the plane trees here are late turning their Autumn colours as our Summer was so long and warmer temperatures have lingered until only recently. Meg:)

    1. Things are beautiful at the moment here, especially along the forest paths where the big trees seem to frame everything in a blanket of colourful leaves. So lovely, even if it's grey and wet the bright colours cheer me up. Enjoy your changing seasons! :)
