This Week in the Garden: Better than Summer!

What an amazing two weeks of mid-autumn "summery" weather we've had!  After such a soggy wet summer, it's been pure luxury to stroll in the sunshine, linger on the beach with the dogs, wander the forest paths, and even the endless chore of weeding didn't seem quite so bad...haha! The weeding and most of the garden clean-up are finally under some semblance of control, I can't bring myself to trim the speckled fading hydrangeas - I confess to finding them oddly appealing in all seasons despite their motley untidy appearance. The cold clear nights mean that the garden is littered with falling leaves faster than I can clear them away for mowing, but such is life. It is a messy but pretty time of year.  I even found a few sneaky hours of leisure to catch up on a little reading on the patio with the sun beam snoozing pets. Bliss! The rain has returned for this weekend, but I have no complains after such a lovely stretch of beautiful autumn days.  What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.
