This Week in the Garden: Slipping into Autumn

I took advantage of a little beautiful autumn weather in between rainy days earlier this week to his the local trails and parks with a camera (so nice not to be rained on every day for a change!) for a few snaps of the summer flowers fading into fall. Already the days are growing noticeably shorter, tinged leaves on trees, acorns popping overhead, and other signs of slipping into autumn. It is a beautiful time of year though, and I hope the weather cooperates enough to thoroughly enjoy it. Garden activities around here are slowing down as I prepare for the inevitability of moving again, but it will still be well tended and loved for the (hopefully) enjoyment of whomever moves in next. They'll be the ones who get to enjoy all of the eventual harvests from my young berry patch and fruit trees, but such is the nature of the gardening nomad I suppose! A new garden awaits...  What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.
