This Week in the Garden: The Promise of Tasty Things to Come

The sun peeked out through very briefly the week, just long enough for a flurry of laundry, mowing, trimming, and weeding before the rain returned with a vengeance.  It's not great weather for enjoying the outdoors this time of year, but it's definitely great for growing. Unfortunately it's also great for growing weeds, and I'm glad that there was a tiny window to tackle that task before they leach up my spring fertilizer away from the "good" plants.  I hope that the wild wet and windy weather doesn't hamper the pollinators, because our young pears and apples are blossoming as are my beautiful blueberries and the first of the strawberries. The deciduous brambles are fully leafed but not yet in blossom.  Fingers crossed for a delicious growing season ahead!  What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.
