This Week in the Garden: The First Leaves of Spring

Everything in the garden seems to have shifted into high gear with a few days of sunshine (and then back to rain...of course!).  The trees are all bursting out with the first green leaves of spring, although shady corners are moving a little slower.  I managed to squeeze in a few quick garden chores before the weather turned, but have yet to finish enriching the soil to transition the garden from winter to spring plantings or start any seedlings.  I'd better get a move on before it's too late! What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.

P.S.  In case you missed them in our Facebook / Twitter feeds, check out this week's collaborations with Creativity Unmasked for DIY odor neutralisers and natural air fresheners and with Dalmatian DIY on creating a pet-friendly home garden. We also wrapped up our Bee Awareness Month Monday mini-series with the final bee post of the month on safely sharing your garden with bees.
