This Week in the Garden: Pretty in Pink

It's still winter, but spring is starting to show her colours.  We've had miserable weather lately and my poor plants are looking rather soggy, hail battered, and wind broken after a barrage of stormy winter weather.  We did have a (brief!) dry and sunny break in the weather, so this week's photos take you out of our rather messy looking garden and into the local neighbour for a look at the lovely late-winter flowering trees coming into bloom.  I love the giant flowering magnolias and big blossoming rhododendrons that seem to thrive around here, and the very first of the early flowering cherries (a nectar-loving tui bird favourite) are starting to bloom as well.  What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows.
