This Week in the Garden: Winter Colour

It's been another soggy week in the winter garden.  Even as the shortest day of the year rolled past, there is still plenty of colour and life to be found in the garden.  The blueberry bushes are alight with beautiful colour, the winter veggies are growing large and leafy, the hellebore is in bud waiting to break out and brighten my garden beds, and I have a few little almost ripe cherry guavas on my young tree.  The mandarins and lemons are still ripening, and the first of the Mexican limes have started to tinge as well.  I can almost taste them already...  What's happening in and around your garden this week?  Whatever your garden/green news, we would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or post us a message on the GiRL Facebook page I look forward to sharing our garden with you as it grows. P.S. Did you catch our how to instructions for making your own delicious jalapeno/chili flakes earlier this week? Yum! I'd love to hear how you preserve your garden goodies for extended eating. Waste not, want not as Mom would always say!
